Max and His Equals

Max and His Equals is a Kingston, Ontario rock band built around the original music of singer-songwriter Max Davidson. Serving as the live counterpart to Davidson's work as a recording artist, the band brings his songs to the stage with its own collective sound and personality.

The music draws from melodic rock, power pop, and alternative rock, with a strong emphasis on songwriting and arrangement. Drawing inspiration from across decades of rock and pop, Davidson's songs pair strong melodies with arrangements that can become surprisingly elaborate, giving the band plenty of room to move between different sounds and moods.

Onstage, the songs take on a life of their own, shaped by the individual influences and musical instincts of the band members. Arrangements continue to evolve through rehearsals and performances, giving the material a character that is distinctly Max and His Equals.
